lake eucumbene

hi guys, going to lake Eucumbene on the long weekend and was hoping to do a bit of panning and sluicing. I know that majority if not all of the lake is covered by national park and so is unworkable for the yellow stuff but was wondering if anyone local to there could tell me where to look at going. hoping to get a day of fishing and then a day for finding the good stuff
any help in the right direction would be awesome

The only gold I have pulled out of Eucumbene has been lots of yummy Trout. Fished it every easter for 20 years and it never failed to deliver.
Good luck on the other type of Gold, never thought of trying that because the fishings so good or was back then.
