Lake Eildon and immediate surrounding country and the feeder streams are part of a water catchment and so it is definitely off limits for prospecting. That might change in the near future as access to some previously parts off limits areas has been proposed by the government and from memory the Howqua or Delatite was mentioned..... but for now NO!
I'm sure that the maps you are referring to are the areas that could potentially open to prospecting
But are not open to us yet. And its not on Eildon itself.
If it does open it will be open to detectors and panning only.
Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but I'm sure that's what I read
Hi just wondering if you are aloud to pan around Lake Eildon way and if yes what areas are best to go to for panning thanks I am really new to this appreciate the help
G'day Kirka welcome to PA the first thing you need to get your head around (save these links and check for updates) is where we are legally allowed to prospect/fossick
Joining the PMAV will put you in touch with like minded people who will invite you to join them so you can flatten the learning curve and get amongst it. Best of luck when you do get the opportunity
What ever you do DON'T break the Covid19 restrictions it makes everyone look bad
