There is a wildlife park in Ballarat where the kangaroos are not eastern greys, but were taken from Kangaroo island. Their coat is a brown color and distinctly different from grey or red kangaroos.

Ask the QLD Government How their Koala Re-location went at Coomera ?.... Massive failure, but at least we have a New Shopping Centre where they used to be... :|

LW...

where they relocated them at huge cost only to have 42 % of them die off , and 50 % die off where the new property development took out their original "home environment"

Why dont they change the name of the suburb to "We killed shitloads of Koalas so a property Developer could build a shop"

I heard that it isn't easy to relocate koalas, I haven't researched this fact. Does anyone know if it's true?

Being fossickers, I'm sure most of you have seen a tonne of places where there are no koalas and plenty of eucalypts for them to munch on.

White man has already spread animals all over Australia to areas they never were , bridges ,tunnels and Wires have done that.

Its unnatural and wrong....

The amount of areas Wires has dropped wombats off that have never ever had a wombat is crazy , the damage they have done to creek banks digging burrows really hits home when a flood comes and next thing you have a wash away.

Animal species arent supposed to cover every square inch of the country , the flora and fauna need pockets that dont have every species living there.

I dont hate animals , i am just fed up with the greenies or the powers that be, thinking more is better and releasing animals without any scientific studies to gauge the impact to that area , when the truth is they are doing more damage than good.
God help you if you bring this topic up with Wires , i did and my ears still hurt.

Koalas are territorial, normally having a home range of approx 40kms and if relocated to an area close by with similar Bush/food sources will very often still return to their original territory.

Not all eucalyptus leaves are the same , koalas adjust their gut to suit leaves in an area but if you move them to another area their gut might not tolerate , or they need time to adjust to them .

I didnt read it on Facebook , A koala told me that so maybe its not true ? What would they know.. ;)

There are kangaroos and Koala in our area
A lot of Tourist visit the area to see them and we have taken visitors (daughters exchange students)sometimes to see them as well cheaper and closer then a zoo .

There was a newspaper aaaaR tickle (written by a funny pirate) which stated tourists had been feeding the Roos and they were becoming aggressive , attacking several over a 6 month period and hospitalising 1 of them.

Reminder for the city dwellers . DONT FEED THE KANGALOO !
