I prefer the opinions of experts rather than some 'fruitcke'.

Err Smokybandit, I think maybe you meant Noah?

Plus I doubt that there were any Koalas in the middle east or whatever they called it back then otherwise there would have been pictorials of them, the ancients only drew the animals they could see, and painted or chiseled, well that's what I reckon.

cheers dave

Haha ,Yer I realize that mate.lol. They say he took 2 of everything..

There are Koala populations in areas not effected by the fires, plus many are being rescued from the fire effected areas.
It is possible to re-colonise the burnt out areas when the regrowth occurs.

As bad as the current fires have been i do not support the theory of extinction for them yet.

Feel free for attacking me for stating my opinion if you must?

I can remember a few years back when they were very concerned that the population of koalas on Kangaroo Island was getting out of hand. They were talking about relocating a bunch of them to the mainland but decided not to as they are a different genre. Euthanizing was also considered but I can't remember what they finally agreed to do.

Maybe this he lped the situation out now.

Cheers

Doug

Lot of talk about culling them on KI, even up to july 2019 but dont think it ever got approved by the government.
KI Koalas are actually introduced species to the island from back in the 30's pretty sure

Thats debatable since those ancient Dead Sea scrolls were found mentioning the Koalas took them to court to prevent publication of Koala Rock paintings under privacy legislation of the day.

Thats a fact...as factual as any promises made by politicians lately.
