Just moved to Cairns/Port Douglas

Hi everyone, just moved to Port Douglas/Cairns for work etc and am busy setting myself up, looking for an apartment, 4x4 etc, anyway to get my priorities right.....I am a very keen fossicker, have been detecting, panning, sluicing, diving for gold for at about fifteen years now and am excited to get out there and explore

Will drop by miners den soon and hope to meet some fellow detectorists.

Always keen on fossicking buddies, more fun with others, as my mates still think its a waist of time!

Good onya Ranger08, the idea of diving for gold sounds awesome, coming from an ex commercial diver.
Your mates wont think its a waste of time when you have fists full of the stuff

I would fancy my chances in the under 12's, butttt? yes may go up for a look
yes hhhmmm i havent seen any diving prospects yet, there seems to be a few obstacles in the water up here,

will leave my diving at the moment for the reef.

Most of the obstacles in the water have teeth 8)

yeh dived with a dredge in NZ for a couple of seasons

I actually have a hookah unit up here already!, just need a river full of gold and a dredge.
