G'day! Billy here from Newcastle. I'm lucky enough, for the next three days, to be sitting in a cabin in beautiful Nundle. This is my first ever forum, so I hope I'm doing the right thing? Walnliz, you are one of the reasons that I am so excited about prospecting. I absolutely love your videos on YouTube. Any advice while I'm here in Nundle? I'm just starting out and i have bought a Job 45" sluice with me, :) and my Garrett at pro.

:D Hi billy welcome to our friendly forum and looks like your off to a good start at Nundle, wish I was there
cheers prospector steve.

Steve, I notice you have an at pro and pinpointer. Same! I was using pro mode this afternoon, I ground balanced it regularly, but was still getting some noise, do you think it could be major mineralisation. Any advice?

Welcome Billy.

I'm a regular visitor to Nundle myself and I'm hoping to be back there in the next few weeks. We might cross paths someday

Best of luck, and let us know how you go.

Cheers,
Nugget

Hey nugget. Do you work up the valley? Your face looks familiar? I'm at Bulga. Could be your mug, as I stated in another post? Billy.

I've lived and worked in the Valley for most of my life so you might have seen my mug doing the rounds

Sweet! May have seen you on a dozer some time??? Hey nugget? How do I put in my avatar? If you please! Every time I try to download my file it says " too big?"

Also, I'm going too start up a website soon. Can I link too this awesome site some time? Is that permitted? Banners etc?

Man!!!!! I'm annoying!!!! Sorry guys. I know alot about web site design etc, but nothing about forums. Again, this is my first.

That would be great mate. Banners and other marketing material can be found under Forum Information.

Cheers,
Nugget

:D Have not been to Nundle ,would like to, and high level reading on ground balance I think is highly mineralized
mate check with nuggett he has been to Nundle im sure.a
Advise: test pan test pan test pan find best spot and run cons through sluice, simple

Welcome to the forum Billy, Nundle is one of the few areas i haven't ventured to "prospecting" . Driven past it on several occasions and always told myself "Swing a pan" but never did. There's quite a few guys on the forum who could possibly give you good advice on the fossicking.

If ever your heading anywhere from Bathurst south to pretty well the Vic border, give me a buzz and i can put you on the right track. Hope you find some useful info on the forum, and look forward to chatting and sharing stories. Best of luck and hope some gold finds it's way into your pan.

Cheers Wal.

Yeah the ground at Nundle is quite mineralised in some areas so the Pro is probably struggling with the harsh variations in ground composition.

If your not already using a DD coil, I'd suggest trying one as they tend to run quieter due to the narrower detection field.

Without giving away your exact location, whereabouts are you detecting? Up Hanging Rock way or back towards town more?

I'm at the tourist park. Tomorrow I'm going up to hanging rock for about 4 hours, and then i am going to follow the peel river from the back of my cabin towards bowling alley point for a couple of hours. I spent about an hour with Colin from the information centre here, a great bloke by the way, he showed me old papers from 1850, so I'm going to check some of those spots also. Very excited.

P.s Walsh, you are my hero! Hope I can find some sapphires up here, like you and
Liz did in your YouTube video.

Thanks Steve. Have a jobe 45 with me. Will definitely test pan. Yeah nugget says use a double d coil. Have 2 with me so...........I'm in the money.
