Is this a finger ring?

Had a bit if go at local beach yesterday afternoon and this gave a good reading, not real sure what it is. Feels too thick to be a finger ring.

It is 29mm outside diameter and 4.5mm thick, it weighs 8.4 grams and is not ferrous. Does not have any numbers on it anywhere.

The outside coating appears to be made in two sections with an butt looking join on the outside and again on inside. The joins are easily seen and not what I would expect on a finger ring. Scratched a pointy knife into the underlying coating where there is corrosion and it is not soft like lead, metal under appears to be grey in colour.

Doubt it, looks like a link off something. Doubtful you would get that longitudinal line on it if it was jewellery imho

Looks like a stainless ring off some sort of commercial fishing gear to me.
