you compete in a 24hr mountain bike race and the only thing you can concentrate on is the geology you are riding over. Mmm nice vertical sediment strata, mmm nice alluvium filled gully, mmm nice material filled crevices, mmm cobble quartz, all I saw was gold traps - everywhere. Sorry no photos - didnt stop, priority to team

Well due to postponement of the race from April and hence lack of bike fitness cause winter is for sliding not riding we managed to place better than most years, 30/32 in the over 40s. Twas a very social race this year

I was saying to the mrs lastnight gee i was i could find nuggets the same size as this hail that was comin down !!! She was not impressed lol gold on the brain...

Don't ever give up on a good idea. ;)
When I was testing my banker out I needed some material to put through it to check out the operation of it.
I grabbed a bucket of gravel from my drive way and put it through it with a few small peices of lead.
When I panned out the cons I was bloody shocked to find a couple of specks of gold.
WTF??? 8)
The banker had not even been out in the feild when I did this. After a bit of research I found out that the gravel had come from Wolumla.
As we know, Wolumla has a gold feild.
I have had to refrain from proccessing the whole drive way so if you think you got problems, Stick with it.

Did you know that the vurrent trend in driveway design in Tathra in actually pebble stone. So i think your wife would love for you to process the "old' driveway and have a more "modern" one to replace it. Don't you think???? :p

Just need to rig up a trailer for the banker - maybe convert one of those baby carriers

LOL about pebble stone.
I would not put that down as in summer it would make the place to hot.
Our next door has a concrete drive way and before I put the Colour Bond Fence up, The reflected heat was savage in summer.
Looks nice though but yet again, I would not use it. If I did do it I would process the material before getting rid of it. LOL

I have a pebble stone driveway with a nice slope, been thinking of just pouring the cons down it and then vacumming the top section when dry

Funny, went for a drive to the Daintree on Sunday with the GLW, coming around a bend I was taken aback by the amazing fault line that the road was dug out off. Classic slip line of Sedimentary over some kind of granit or basalt, clear line, could not stop to take a pic due to narrow road and no where to stop... Its between Alexandra lookout and the Discovery center.

Never mind the trees and the cassowaries .. I was thinking, I need to sample that!

Cheers, Tone

Beautiful Noncents, toying with the idea of a Reenactment of a gold rush - IE old style via old tracks eg Adelong up to Kiandra (Gibsons Plain), set up like this would be close

Maybe turn it into a race, it would be cool to see dudes in old style clothes pushing a barrow or riding a bike with prospecting essentials. To cull out the non genuine athletes you would have to prove you could obtain gold on arrival at destination
