G'day everyone. After spending a while searching for info and getting nowhere I found Prospecting Australia, the site looks great, is active, members look friendly, plenty of forum info etc etc, so i joined up and here I am. I've got a Eureka Gold, and hardly used it, so this noob would like to look around the Beaufort Vic. area to start with; as it's probably the closest area to the North of me. Any advice on where to go, tactics etc etc greatly appreciated.

Damnit, why have I waited so long to do this.

Welcome flyspray.

There are still nuggets being picked up in Beaufort and the best chance with your Eureka would be the many mullock heaps from the area. I have headed out there a couple of times and have got nice size gold out of them with my dry blower.

Thank's guys. I found the post by Au on the Eureka, what a lot of time that will save. Exactly the info I need at this stage, so I been reading up on that, and with the comments above from MJB I'm as keen as mustard to get out there. However, much to my displeasure I believe research is the key, so I'm spending today between the backyard and Au's post learning how to use this thing
