Hi Guys Misty here
I hope I have submitted this item in the correct forum space
I have now been made redundant and waiting to get packed up for the trip back across the ditch
I am in Richmond NSW and have yet to get to the ocean beaches near here Sydney area,
but I have just returned from a popular river beach near here where I was swinging with my Gold Bug Pro
Nothing to get too excited about $4.60 in spendables
but also a UK 1 pound, a Euro 2 cent
and some coin from the United Arab Emirates. Anyone know the currency?
The amusing thing is these three coins were in an area about the size of a dinner plate.
Always recheck the hole eh?
I reckon they spilled out of some kids pocket when starting his coin collection.
Turbo's owner is happy to pickup the collar tag
Heaps of sinkers and a rod tip bell (( and the usual junk))
Cheers
Misty

That's nice you contacted the owner??

Hi Jaros
Thanks for your comment
Ringing the owner seems the right thing to do.
The reason people put tags on their dogs collars with phone numbers is if the dog has strayed and got lost
I found another one about 4 months ago and the owner was stoked to get it back.

Hi Ramjet
yeah 3 different coins had me bluffed too being half blind don't help
I didn't really have a good look until I got home

Thanks guys

We have a whole network in East Brisbane that walk their dogs and know each other well. That has happened on occasion when a dog gets out and an army of like minded people marshall themselves and 9.9 times out of 10 find the pup, even cockatiels have been found this way.
Cheers , good job. :p

Sunday 19 Oct finds at the local river beach

A few coins and 2 ear studs
The sparkly one probably a Zircon but the knotted design certainly feels heavy enough to be silver
and a couple of junk bangles
The little coil Gold Bug pro starting to sing for me now
Cheers

Hi Paulmarr, Sa_bogan and Sandta
Thanks for the comments
There is no clasp on this chain , possibly the reason it was lost.
Its too heavy for aluminium and is not attracted to a magnet
Originally I thought it might be just steel plated gold.
Will get it checked out
Cheers

Misty

Hefty looking chain you've got there, well done. What was the target ID for the chain, it may help out in determining whether it is gold. I would have thought the hallmark would be on the flat ends that are still on the chain, thats where both of my chains have it. :)

Hi Goldpick
I cannot find any hallmarks on either end of this chain. As said before there is no clasp.
The reading on my Gold Bug Pro is 64 - 65 the same as my wifes gold rings.
I took it to the local jeweller who also couldn't confirm the material.
I am going to Sydney (city) later in the week so will get someone in the big smoke to check it out, and let you all know.
I was fairly excited when I first beeped it but with no real ID yet I am losing the buzz. :(
Thanks for your comments
