Transom on the old Stacer has got some serious cracks after hitting the concrete part of the ramp with force on my last trip, I didn't notice it for a couple of weeks and it's a bugger of a time to try and get it repaired but a mate dropped off his little Hains for me to use so I can keep Miss Kay and all the neighbours stocked up with fresh fish.

Big crack. I had a stacer 475 Easyrider with a 75hp Merc on the back. Didn't use it enough so sold it.
I've had the "OFFICE" for 22 years, it's on its 3rd motor, an 80HP Honda and it's 2nd trailer, a Custom Made aluminium job built by Colin Smith at Port Macdonnell and it's had about ten times more use than the average rec. boat so I've got my moneys worth out of it. Everyone keeps telling me it's time for a new one but I love this old boat

There are days that I wish I still had it but the Council changed local parking rules so, no trailers, caravans, boats, camper trailers are allowed to park on street. I couldn't fit the boat and car under the house but could fit the camper and car in with10" to spare. So, out with the boat. If I want to park in our street it costs $25 buck a year even after paying our rates!!! Bloody thieves.

Bloody thrives, that's nearly 50centss a week.

That is a cracking trailer Dave! With one of those easy catch things on the front?

I apologise in advance, but yes, that is a cracking boat too (literally unfortunately!). Would a large piece of alloy plate, folded, shaped and then welded hold the whole area together? If it was anywhere near waterline I wouldn't do it but being where it is...?

Good luck with whatever you do :Y:

~$1000 to fix that... damn, I need to start advertising!

Thats a 15 min job to fix that. About $2 in wire, $2 in Argon and about $5 for of-cut alloy if you want to beef it up

I agree, not the first time its cracked there. Rather than beef it up around the weld I say your transom could do with some fly bracing

similar to this..

Yeah Northeast, that trailer will still be carrying a boat when the worms have turned me into Nutrog, everywhere I go people ask "who made it and where it came from" The fix for the boat won't cost much, I've been patching her up for years, I've got insurance so hopefully I can get a bit back. :Y:
