Looks very professional. I'd be interested in the method you used to clean up that powder horn, I have a similar (but more beat up) one from the greater Braidwood area in NSW.

Thanks mate, i use a dremel and the small soft wire wheel. After going all over it and all cleaned up i then give it a light coating of baby oil

From what i can find they were around the early to mid 1800s, they lost popularity obviously with the introduction of the motor car in the 1900s.

Well we had to go down to the southwest to visit family. I researched a location where there were over 1500 workers building something in the area back in the 1920's. After a lot of walking i found a lot of brass canvas tent rings so i knew i was in the right area. I then found this....

Not to far from the musket ball i found this... Turns out its a underground miners check piece. The worker at the camps must of also worked at the underground mines back then..
