Identify and value

Hello
Im new here and am seeking advice on a couple of boulder opals that I cane across when digging in my front garden. I live nowhere near where you would find such a thing so I dont honestly know how they got there. They are quite big and I dont know a lot about them but am tempted to dig my whole front yard up! Lol any advise would be greatly appreciated

If they're not anywhere near where they're usually found, I'd say someone buried them there. But why? is the question!
Don't think I'd dig up the whole yard in this case.

Thankyou so much for your replies. Yes I was also thinking they must of been buried, but why is a good question and why wouldnt they take them when they left. The pictures I posted are only of one rock - all the different sides. Is it of any value would you think?

Opal experts would know if it has any great value. There are a few on this forum who might help you with this question.

But I'd keep it as a nice specimen.

It's the fault lines in it that could display a lot more opal hiding within the rock, but exposing them is a tricky business.

Probly someone cleaned out their grimey old fishtank into the garden one day in the past and wasn't aware of the algae covering gems.
I.... a.... only know because we find agate near our banana trees sometimes that's where I cleaned out our grimey fish tank once about 16 years ago
