ID help on this brass or copper acorn shaped thingo??

Any ideas on what this could be. Its non magnetic so I guess brass or copper. About 15mm long x 12mm diameter.
The grid squares are 5mm.

It has a quite small hole in the top. Based on where it was found its 1920 to 1950's.

I was thinking a clothing drawstring end but were they even a thing in early 1900's?

Maybe jewellery?

I would go with a curtain pull, this is a "modern vintage one" so the shape would not be as good as the older version, like GH says, does the top unscrew from the bottom?

It's VERY light. I tried unscrewing but it does not seem to undo.
