I would be happy to hunt in the heat if it wasn't so humid!

The humidity in Central Queensland is just horrible in the last few days.
And in Yeppoon we have had hardly any rain at all. Ground still hard as concrete below 1 inch.

I detected in 41 degree heat in Newcastle NSW last month and it was hot, (Only an Hour)
But today it is like 33 degrees and I am sweating 10 times as much just typing as I was digging in Newcastle.

Had a 15 minute dig in Rockhampton after an appointment today and had to stop as the sweat went in my eyes
evertime I tried to dig a signal. 4 signals and I was outa there back into air con car!

PLEASE RAIN In Yeppoon, If anyone has any pull with the weather gods, it would be appreciated.

Winge Over

Damn straight clegy, humidity is bad here at the moment, even early morning or late afternoon hunts aren't any better, it has been raining on and off in rocky/gracemere over the last couple of days which cools it down for abit but once the sun comes back out and warms the ground up.... BAM..... Humidity. Went for a quick hunt in rocky late Saturday arv and came home drenched in sweat
Lucky we are a persistent bunch :D

Have any luck on your 4 targets?

Rocky has always been hotter and more humid than on the coast. It's just as bloody humid down here in Gladstone as well! I'm not even venturing into the workshop downstairs due to the humidity.

What we really need is for the weather to turn so we're getting the south easterly sea breezes ... I reckon thursday and we should be back to normal ... keep ya fingers xed!

Move VIC or SA, no issues with humidity down here, just no palm trees and tropical beaches. ;)

You guys must be just about due for a cyclone, not that I would wish for anyone to take a direct hit from one, though it will bring on the rain.

Took a cyclone on the head last year, Not this year please.
As Bits flew off the house across the road they bounced off my place, looked like someone took a sledgy to the wall and roof.
Lucky that the lovely old lady that lived there was safe at a relatives House. She even said I could detect her yard.

4 Targets = 1x copper pipe 1 inch long, 1 x small lead like I found at the race track (makes no sense unless you where there LOL), 1 x Canslaw, tricky ******* rang 91 and was deep. and a Brass Circle about 2 inches across and 3-4 mm wide.

Think I will hunt up in rocky a bit more in winter, there is an old caravan park site that looks very tempting yet very public.

Hitting the beach in about an hour as the breeze down there is a gem.

Still NO RAIN!

Cheers All.

Yeah mate stinking here in Brissy, humidity is just....filth....just after lunch started getting rain and thunder and lightning. I know some parts of QLD still need rain for the farmers, been praying hard, and I know some have had it, like Longreach and the Maranoa...not sure how to spell that river.

I'm thinking Autumn might be best for prospecting, Gmypie has no shade neither does the spot x.

Yep sure was a nasty one. Cat 5 as it made land fall, cat 4 as it passed by yeppoon and cat 3 as the eye went straight over the top of rocky, no power for 8 days, people waiting 24hrs in line to get fuel for their generators, some bloke was nickin the generators powering the traffic lights in town and selling them off also heard stories of people siffening the fuel out of boats in the light of day right under the owners noses, really did bring out the worst in some but definitely brought out the best in most. Dont want to go through that again anytime soon, and we were one of the lucky ones very little damage to the house :)

Hey clegy if you ever want company coin shootin in rocky just send me a pm mate im always keen to get out for a swing.

Who needs rain to soften the ground in QLD when you have sweat to do the job for ya,... just lean over the target area an direct a good flow of sweat onto the target area before you start digging,... when the sweat runs low, just drink more water to start her flowing again,... we're just sooo blooby lucky up hete that the fair maidens are lured by the aroma (pungent)of a fair dinkum sweatin aussie man. :D
