Ha! Good thread! Brings back good memories.
Mine was on my 2nd day at Hargraves with my first banker.
I was camped out in the middle of winter, -7deg at night....
Yet I was splashing around in a frozen creek at 7am!
A mate had just arrived at camp, as I was doing a clean up.
"Is there any gold" walking down with two stubbies of beer in his hand at 8.30am!!!
I turn to see a bub nuggy ( .78grm ) just shinning there on the skid base.
"Is that a little nuggy or what"
" bull
oop: ... really" ?
"Yep"
So it was a great day to kick off with.
Found its little brother, 0.6grm within a foot later that day.
Froze our monkeys balls off on that 12 day trip out there In the middle of winter.
Burnt half the amazon to stay alive.
Sox u could snap in half off the line from being frozen stiff.
Beer was just outside in box, no need for ice!
The colour of gold running through our veins kept us warm.....
+ copious amounts of rum!!!
I skull dragged a massive tree stump 400m down to camp, gouging the dirt track back to camp.
Thinking it would keep us going two days....
Woke up the ne t morning.....
It was gone!!!
Wtf!!!!
Did someone actually steel it ?!!!
Just a little bit of ash remained that you would expect from a burnt dunny rolll!
I actually looked around the camp site thinking it was some kind of joke!
So stock up out at Hargraves
No iron bark there... thats for sure!
