How do you carry your Highbanker & gear?

I use a garden cart from bunnings, the sherlock one, and strap an ocky arround it. Fits pump and banker with pans, then carry a few 20 litre buckets with lunch, drink, pick etc in the other hand. Do like the wheelie bin idea though.

Bugga. Didnt really feel like forking out that much.

I just picked up a brand new one with padded shoulder and waist straps from Ironside Military in Wollongong St. Must have been a slow business day, after a short haggling session I ended up paying $40 for it.

Now, that's a Bugga! Damn side cheaper than what I paid on Fleabay. Stupid me.

Must admit I nearly bought one off ebay, but was out at Fyshwick picking up my banker and just happened to be driving past Ironside...

They have some really cool stuff in there if you're into ex-military gear.

Where do you guys get your frames? Ebay?

Yep. Not cheap IIRC - I think mine, inc all the straps, was $120 'Buy It Now' from an Aussie seller. Had to enlist (no pun intended) an ex-Army mate to show me how to put all the straps together.

I took a different approach to mine. Didnt want to spend the money on an Alice frame at the time so i opted for a second hand back pack from the Salvo shop. I picked the toughest looking one and cut out the back of it complete with the straps.
Works for me.... :) :)

I got a cheaper version at the green shed here in canberra but i have my doubts about how long it will last.

Not sure if they had any more new ones, but there was a box full of used ones in fair condition.

I like Reeks idea of a bolt and wingnut to attach it to a highbanker.

One strap around the bottom and one wingnut in the middle. Rock solid.
I used a cheap backpack before the alice frame, it worked- but would not last many sessions, the frame is good as the bottom of the banker sits away from your lower back.

And yes, those shoulder straps had me scratching my head, a quick youtube vid and i got it on properly lol
Just need to get out there and use it a bit more

Did you weld the bolt in Reeks? I'm thinking a bit of epoxy might also do the trick, don't really want gold dropping out through the hole in the channel.....

The bolt and wingnut is straight from wals design, it actually holds an ally angle down (also squishes the start of the breadcrate section) no gold can get out, when i do a clean and remove all the mats, breadcrate and expanded i put the bolt back in before washing all the nuggets down and into a bucket :D

No hole or bolt in mine as it turns out, so might have to get one Tig'd onto the bottom as I'm not drilling a hole in it just for that.

Did you buy your walbanker?
Design might have changed in the last year..
I built mine from wals specs over a year ago, have you got any pics of yours?

Haven't got any pics at the moment sorry.

The "guts" of my banker appears to be held down by a couple of long angle strips running down each side and bolted at both ends to the inner sides of the channel.

I haven't had a chance to take it apart yet as away from home working this week.

Hi Mate,
Those long angle strips, One end undoes and swings up to allow you to remove the expanded
and crate section for ease of cleaning.
Saves having to undo a heap of clips.

Thanks mate, I did spot the locknuts on one end and the wingnuts on the other and assumed that was how it worked but didn't get a chance to try taking it apart.

On the upside I now also have a pump and a box full of hose and camlocks to put together. :)
