Hello,

After reading Loamers excellent thread on what to look for when detecting I decided to sign up to the forum.

I grew up in Orange NSW, and nowadays live on the Central Coast. Over the last 12 months I find my interest in prospecting continuing to grow.

This looks like a great and very informative forum and a top shelf online community.

G'day all,
Joe here from Nth Qld. I just want to start by saying, How impressed I am with the guys and girls in this forum. Who have shared their knowledge & expertise in the art of prospecting.

I am a Cairns local, born and raised. I have been prospecting in the far north
On and off for about 20 years. Mostly working creeks with my sluice.
These days I put my efforts into those old remote mines up here, using my 5k.

I am looking forward to reading more about the members here, and their stories and great information they have to offer. I hope to contribute my self and share my own experiences.

Welcome Joeboy,... I got up there last year when the rivers were going over a bit in March,... got out for a little detect for some away from home silver,... had not been there for around31-32 years I was gobsmacked at what a modern city it had turned into in the mean time,... loved that oppressive humidity, was waiting to see fish swim through the air past me(didn't happen that time),..lots of rain while we were up there. hope you have fun on here and lots of adventures up there.
