Hi all I recently purchased a Minelab xterra 705 to get into fossicking. My wife and I have travelled extensively around our great country and spoken to some wonderful people about fossicking , and over the next couple of years plan on learning more so when we eventually retire we will have an extra interest to persue in our travels.

I have a Minelab xterra 705 out mount Isa way I not find gold with it yet . I think others have come before me with a better detector

Welcome to the forum Jim. traveling around this great land of ours with a detector in hand will add much anticipation to many locations along the way.

To go through an old gold town with a detector in tow will open not only the history of the town, but also its usually stunning geological features which were previously most likely overlooked.

The forum is a great source of information, and if you need any advice just ask your fellow members and I'm sure they'll put you on the right track.
