We have both just turned 50 and and have a little more time on our hands. We own a concrete resurfacing business in Townsville and are pretty close to the famous Charters Towers area where we hope to spend a fair bit of time prospecting for those shiny nuggets, so if any one has any tips or advice we would be very happy to hear from you. We just purchased a Garrett Atx( didn't have the coin for the new Minelab)

Welcome to the forum Bellaray, sounds like your first stop should be the townsville detecting club. Theres also a group of us prospecting/detecting types that meet once a month (mostly) up in Cairns at the Nq Miners Den.
I know thats a fair drive north but we're more than happy to meet fellow prospectors that come to visit.
