Is much gold been found in Victoria by newbies?

I have been told Beechworth, Ballarat & Bendigo & Castlemaine are best gold districts in the state?

Might book a day off after Anzac day and do a 4 day weekend gold hunting?

To answer your questions:
Get rich: Absolutely!!!* (* means conditions apply, these conditions can be read at qwertyuiop)
Expensive: Yes, but considered by many to be the best...however, by research you may find something that does what you wish, within your price range..
Cheaper?: Absolutely!! Search the threads here, Nugget has a great thread re the prices and capabilities...
Pan?: You have to be able to pan...this is the L plate of being a prospector..
Sluice: Yep, bnut you still need to be able to pan....
4 day Weekend: Is that to do a course on prospecting? or just to go out for a family getaway?
Eitherway, it will be brilliant to get out in the bush mate..
Have a look on youtoob, get the general idea...
Get a gold pan and a shovel....
Dig a bit of dirt...pan it off..
See what you get!
