We are new but have enjoyed reading all your great convos for quite awhile. We live in the northern rivers of NSW. We met some of you at Eldorado in 2014. Great bunch of gold hounds too.

We are on our way to Cairns to see family. Thought we would call into Canoona. Never been there and dont know what to expect. Boggy has a new infinium LS he is itching to give a go. Dont know where we can camp. If anyone has been there and can give us info that would be appreciated. Will Boggy live up to his reputation? We hope not.

I just came back from cairns visiting family. Sure do miss living up that way.

Hi Boggy

Ok Canoona can be tough going very very noisy the worst I've ever heard, when you get there there is a hotel with motel rooms out the back pretty standard but hot shower and bed is want you want.

Or just before the hotel at the right side of the road there appears to be free stop over you will see many vans and campers there no shower or the finer things.

Now in the area you will detect the black boys are so tall as I said its pretty hard going with lots of junk, you will see many mines and diggings along the creek.

I've been there half dozen times with no luck, maybe you will have some.

Thanks for the welcome Jaro. Had a bit of a swing at Canoona,not the easiest going. Found some pretty nice looking nails lol. Oh well, family time now.
