Hello,

I came across this site when I was looking for information about which detector to buy and seeing how people here help out each other I figured I'd get on board.

Late last year the wife and I picked up 2 hectares of land a few minutes out of Maryborough backing onto state forest, and seeing as I have a big beard, prospecting seemed to be a logical way to go. We still live in Melbourne but now have a beautiful place to camp and in a few years build a house. I have only been out a few times with the SD2200D and am just starting to learn my machine, but having more fun just getting out there, and out of the city.

Welcome Dan the 2200 are a good detector you are in a good area just take your time and will be rewarded regards john

Thanks John, The good thing about it is not digging up so many lead shot, I know I'll be missing a lot of small stuff with the bigger coil but at least I can have a bit more time learning all the little sounds it makes not having to dig every 50cm as I found out when I rented a SDC2300 ...... but we did find 2 sub gram nuggets with it
