Hi people, I've been following these forums for a while picking up some great information on this site. I'm a mad keen prospector from the Gold Coast, I got the bug a couple of years ago and have had some great trips travelling down to Glen Innes, Torrington and Grabben Gullen. A big thanks to members Wal and Liz for their youtube videos which has helped a great deal in the field. I will post up some images of finds as I get them, nothing to retire on yet. Happy digging,

This is a really good way to keep your passion for your hobby alive ... The guys in this forum are a huge help , if your struggling to understand something - just ask ... somebody will have advise to offer .
As well as that , you may well make some good friends ....

Thanks Steve, I have learnt so much already from people here. Always keen to make new friends and plan a few trips around the country side. If work didn't get in the way I'd be out there everyday.

Hey Mark, welcome. I'm heading out to Grabben Gullen next weekend- did you have any luck down there? It will be my first time Sapphiring so excited but don't know what to expect.

Thanks for the welcome, I was only at Grabben Gullen for 2 hours but found 5 small sapphires. I would of had 6 but dropped one back into the water when holding it to the sun. Planning on heading back down this year sometime for longer as I stopped in there heading back to the Gold Coast after a week hunting for Gold around the Snowies (only found a little). I will post some pictures up of some of my finds soon, currently working a 3 and 1 roster out in the Maranoa.
