Any locals please add me on Facebook Scott djdotty cutting
Would love to talk & hopefully go hunting with you.
Any info much appreciated with metal detector & detecting.
The historic areas are way to big the more the better luck we should have.

Hi there Scott, welcome to PA. Always nice to have another Adelaidean in the Forum.
There are quite a few locals who search the southern beaches and parks for treasure and I'm sure they will be along to say g'day soon.
I am in the Outer Harbour area, so when I am treasure hunting I tend to stick to the LeFevre Peninsula, hitting from Henley Beach up to Port Gawler.
Mostly I try my luck at panning up in the hills. Good luck with your detector, and hopefully you will be posting some pictures of your finds soon.

TT

G'day Scott,

There is a great detecting club just down the road from you - The southern seekers detector club inc. they meet on the 2nd Monday 7.30pm at the Log Cabin 17 Gerald Court Christies Downs. They generally have a field trip on the following sunday. The club has heaps of members that are willing to help any newbie and they also can provide advice on buying & using your detector.

Don't forget to put into your diary the SA metal detecting championships held at the Palmer Oval on Sunday the 4th May. There are great prizes including metal detectors in the past provided by Minelab & Garretts. The Murraylands Gem & Mineral Club hold the Palmer Rockarama over that weekend well worth a visit or campout.
