Hey guys and gals, Adam here!. Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm from a small town called Merriwa, located in the upper hunter valley NSW. I've always had a keen interest in gold fossicking/prospecting but never had the time or funds for it... Until now!
Story time! I purchased my first metal detector 5 days ago in Mudgee NSW, and as soon as I got home I decided to give the local train station platform a work out (was built in the 1800s and closed in the 50s or 60s) well I had made it about 20 metres with my minelab x-terra 705 and found 2 Florins. One from 1952 and the other from 1954... I could not believe my luck! I decided to leave whatever other goodies were here for another day and headed to the site of th old bowling club which was closed over 40 years ago. 5 minutes into my hunt there I found a 1947 florin!!!!! I also decided to stop then and save the rest of the goodies that might be there for another day

Welcome Adam, it's great to see another member from the Hunter Valley, that probably puts us at about 20 or so now . Well done on the Florins, that's a fantastic start to an addictive bit often rewarding hobby.
