Hey fellow prospectors

Hey all very new to all this but very excited to get out there and start searching. I'm from the western suburbs of Melbourne. Prospecting has been something on my todo list for quite a while but with life never got around to taking the leap. Now with getting older, medical issues its time to start doing some things for myself so here i am. All thought i only have very basic set up for panning and magnet fishing hoping to get a detector, Sluice and even a high banker as i progress. I have a lot of time to head out so if anyone is looking for a tag along, to try new ground, Would love to meet like minded people and gather experience and knowledge along the way. Unfortunately prospecting is not normally something that you can pay your way by finding enough gold to sell to buy better gear as you go.
Probably the way to start is just get out there on your own and immerse yourself in say finding the best panning spots.
A short cut maybe to to join a prospecting club who organise excursions and would give you the opportunity to meet and talk to like minded people.
