Hey guys,
Digging a 1890-1920's pit on the weekend and found this little bakelite container. It has "SMK" and 1 1/4 a symbol and and "I"

I put it up on many facebook antique collecting group, military collector groups, digging groups and i have has everything from medicine powder to knitting needle container to pill bottle, gun cleaning kit, gunpowder container but no one knows exactly what it is for.

Closest thing i can find is ww1 or ww2 bomb fuse container. Similar German ones here... https://www.kriegsendemilitaria.com/products/original-bakelite-fuse-container

SMK could mean smoke?
Anyone know forsure?

Tailormarc, why do you say that SMK company is not very old - I think it is the Spanish sister company to Smoking, which has been making papers since the 1700s, 1 1/4 being a common size. Tubes are still used for their storage by some.
