been metal detecting for the last twenty years mainly for artifacts and old coins.but have been watching a few vidieos of detecting, panning, etc in australia it looks good and interesting.

I think the history in the uk is interesting , the Tv show "time team " was great and the uncovered lots of relics and treasure :Y:

The grass is always greener over the fence , i reckon the yukon looks awesome.

In twenty years of detecting you must have some awesome coins and treasure :Y: welcome to the forum .

Spent last night looking at YouTube videos of UK detecting rally finds, and dreaming of jumping on a plane one day.

Love to find some 2000 year old relics, but unearthing that 100000000 year old glint of gold or sapphire from the clutches of the maker is an awesome experience.

hi yes i suppose your right the grass always seems greener else where, but would still like to give it a try one day,.as for good finds over the last twenty yrs. iv,e foundloads of hammered silver coins, roman bronzes, and silver, but never found any gold coins..the trouble over here is their are to many doing it now and land is hard to get or like it is over with yourselves parts have been done to death ....i am retired now and have plenty of time to do tectin.we have a small farm in derbyshire near buxton. in the peak district...

cheers wally thanks for the greeting like you say the grass always seems greener else where but its something different it must be just as hard to find a bit of gold as it is to find a small hammered coin but nice when you do.. take care john.
