Just like to say G'Day to every one.
I have been into the prospecting scene on and off for as long as I can remember.
It has always fascinated me on how the old timers did what they did to win the yellow stuff from the ground.
I have seen shafts cut straight down through solid rock, as square as you would find today using our more modern methods and they did it all by hand.
The history and some of the stories from a bygone era and what some tenacious old miners went through also built this mighty country we call Australia.
.
During my prospecting times I have owned a few detectors and various types of equipment.
And I love it.
Getting out in the bush away from the rat race, Discovering a new site and then feeling the history, priceless. Bit hard at times walking onto an old town site knowing that at one stage 5000 people lived and worked here yet all that is left is a few jumbled piles of rock in the bush.
.
My passion has been re-ignited.
After attending my nephews wedding up near Nerriga NSW, The bug has bit again. I have been rather slowly building a modified 4Runner to go bush in so I will have to make a bit of room to stow the
prospecting gear in as well. LOL
Yep, Gonna build a Sluice from the excellent plans on this site. Gonna love that.
anyway,
Cheers to all and look forwards to meeting you out there one day.
(Maybe I will find that elusive retirement nugget, coin cash, hidden and lost miners tote, LOL)
Cheers,
Doug
