New member but regularly read some topics here. I'm about to get serious with prospecting as a hobby and will be purchasing a metal detector and some basics very soon.
I have the budget for GPZ7000 but seems like the GPX5000 with some after market coils can perform just as well if not better. I'm a traveller so intend on prospecting all over Aus but will mostly be Vic and Qld.
Appreciate any sense others can talk in to me? Am I being ignorant thinking the extra $5000 will pay for it self? How many hours swinging would it take to justify the extra $$
