Hello All,
Long time listener, first time caller. As the title suggests I'm based in Geelong.
The family (wife and kids) picked up a minelabs panning kit a while back on a whim and thought it would make for an interesting day out to try our luck out at Slaty creek.As soon as we saw those first few specks of colour in the pan we were hooked.
At the moment we're trying to master our new sluice and are currently contemplating the purchase of a detector (SDC 2300 & GM 1000 vs GPX 5).
We're some way off from striking it rich, but it's a fun process with lots to learn and gives us the opportunity to share time together.
It's been very interesting reading the various posts here on the forum and seeing all the differing views and opinions.
We're looking forward to the upcoming school holidays with more time to get out and explore a bit more and maybe even find a bit of gold as a bonus.
