Was meant to be 37 at Ballarat today, not sure what it got too though, 39 tomorrow on the BOM site.
Warming up a little for Ballarat, was hotter where I lived up in Mildura & Corryong (both Vic) so summer down here is a bit better.
Hey mate I'm a Mildura person too, any chance I know you?

My wife tells me we got to 40 here in Ballarat today ozz.

It probably was Scrounger, I'm only going from what the news weather person said & they normally never get it right, think the weather is normally taken a bit out of town too, at the airport in alot of places, which is normally cooler, all the buildings & roads cause higher temps in town.

As most of you know that I live in Maryborough Vic. Today it suppose to hit 41c. with strong Northerly winds. I'm staying home and keeping my eye on the emergency link on my PC. for any fire warnings. I've got a list of what I need to take and some of that has already been packed and ready to go.
wombat ;)

be careful AtomRat, if you have to leave mate leave, i know what it is like i have been in the same situation, 2001 i was with the volunteer fire bridge, Christmas day i watched my grandparents house burn in the fires we had here and was nothing we could do, i was in a position to see first hand what can happen when people choose not to leave when they can safely, not trying scare tactics mate just showing concern for your well being
Cheers
Jamie

Just so you know the fire has died down a bit but still not contained. She should be back home soon. I don't know who's smart idea it was to block warburton hwy and then force us to stay put. What a heap. One way in out and they block it

There is more than one way out around Wandin.
I lived there most of my life.
Staying at Mt.evelyn atm.
Here till the 6th
Will have to catch up with you for a beer.
I don't have a car down here. But may be able to be dropped off somewhere close

Had a severe weather warning for western vic earlier, it just came across before, bit of rain & a little wind so far but nothing major, certainly cooled it down a bit. Meant to get winds of above 100k/ph so hopefully it doesn't push any fires to much.

Now I know where it was closed off..not soo bad now as couldve taken maroondah if had to, but what I more meant was for me being east more...closing off the hwy isn't a great idea. I would refuse to drive bush ( spur ) on a day like today with fires and crazy drivers. So I was well prepared today and had the house ready for fire in case.

Sure mate, I get to use a car here and there still but I have to organise it before hand. 6th is heaps of time. Mabey go for a dig down the creek near me and pub afterwards? New owners there and only just reopened 2 days ago as well so would be interesting to see if any changes have happened.

You teleported here fast mate, you have some super beam me up scotty powers going on

Now we gotta watch out for lightning storms and more fire...grrr..good ol Melbourne.

I hope those in Ballarat and other areas are going well with the fires

It was a stinking hot day in Mount Gambier today, spent most of my time in the car with the air-con on, then transferred to the cool environment of the cinema for the rest of the evening. ;)
