The other week I went to Specsavers to get my yearly eye test done and when exiting I was asked to do a free ear test with Bay Audio.
I thought my ears were relatively ok but my wife and I had these arguments all the time regarding me not hearing her. I would tell her to come to the bloody room I'm in to talk-not the other end of the house. True about 3 rooms away.
Anyway I had my ears checked and to my amazement I have a pretty severe loss in my right ear of a high range of frequencies and similar in the left but not as severe.
About $3000 later I walked out with hearing aids and geez it was hard to adjust to the sidetone -but that is the level I was supposed to be hearing.

Now with regards to metal detecting I can tune the hearing aids into the detector bluetooth and away we go. Makes me wonder what I have missed out there.

Just takes 1/2 an hour free tests everywhere. I suggest it might be a good thing for a lot of us in the upper age bracket.
Jaros. :)

i have had mine for about 9 years now
i am onto my second set and unlike the old one these have volume control so i can turn them up or down by the press of a button
depending on the noise around me
or if i want to listen or not :( :( :) :) :)

$8,500 for my pair about 10 years ago and till now cant complain really.
However over the last few months, the background noise is making it very difficult to listen to the person or persons in front of me talking.
Jaros, thanks for the heads up as I see what the story is with them.
Regards
Mackka
