Was in Castlemaine yesterday ................. sadly not for pleasure, and caught up with an old school mate who has been bottle and relic hunting for 40 odd years. He was doing a bit of detecting below Pennyweight flat cemetery and got a target that when dug up was a gold sovereign .................. ripper he thought :Y: Took two more steps and another target a nice little ounce nugget  He reckons odds on the same bloke lost both :( One can bet that bloke wasn't so happy :N:
Bottom line it's still out there :) and I'll be heading back real soon as eager as to explore the relatively untouched areas ;)

Go now Bogger

Might be a few rushing there right now

You might be right I reckon :Y: In saying that the area that we knew as Nobbies farm thru to the pine plantation past the rifle range is a lot of ground to cover just in the Pennyweight area alone.
Having grown up there school mates and family own a lot land in the area. :Y: :Y: :Y: :Y: When I asked a few had any done their backyards the answer was and I quote " Only the one's that have climbed the fence at night " I though they were kidding at first but then a few stories were told of the funny escapades of evicting them. :) There are some cheeky buggers out there and probably explains why there are a lot of locked gates

Wow talk about a good day out I'd love to see pics of those finds.

I just got back from a trip to coffs harbour (drove from Adelaide) and I noticed the locked gates and signs as I made my way through goldfield areas. There was even a manequin hanging from a tree with a noose around it's neck and blood painted on with a keep out sign beneath it.

This was the type of ceramic top he found ....................... @ over 2.5K certainly worth keeping an eye out for :Y:
