I use Sunray Pro Gold Headphones. Man, are they comfortable and great sound. Only problem is I don't think anyone in Oz brings them in anymore. I bought mine from USA but it's not cheap by the time you get them here.
Real Leather Cups, Left and Right side individual volume (which works great for me as my hearing isn't so good in one ear), quality toggle switches and plug. The difference in quality when compared to the Koss that came with my 5000, is like comparing the Sandy Shaft compression lock shafts to Minelab's stock offerings- Chalk and Cheese.
A lot depends too on where you are in Oz and what you are searching for. Speakers may be great in many environments, but if you are detecting in a Vic state forest on even a slightly windy day you may not hear any faint deep signals with the gumtrees and ironbarks making a racket. The Sunray Pro Gold also block out more external sounds than most other headphone brands. Combined with my sP01 I only hear the sounds I want to hear.
