I knew a guy called "Yugo Jack " . He came to Australia in the 1930's . He had a gold mine in Tennants Creek NT .

He said that the rich gold specimens that Lasseter carried around came from Halls Creek . Who knows ?

But that is the fun of urban legends.....

This article is absurd to me - so Lasseter decided to die looking in the NT near the WA border when his reef was actually near the QLD border? And gold reefs were being mined in NT near the Queensland border long before Lasseter's time (eg White Range goldfield, discovered in the 19th C).
