Hi guys, I watch this forum so much lately i thought id take the next step and join. Not much A bloke can do out here at night and on rainy days. Im a full time prospector in WA and have been for 16 years. Found over 1000oz including 4 surface reefs (one produced 107oz). Biggest nugget was a 47oz back in 2000. Am happy to assist if anyone needs advice on the Goldfields of WA. Am upgrading to a 5000 so I might need a little advice as well!

cheers guys, Sparra, I got a 4500 and a 3500, I never wanted the 5 but the 45 is cactus, Its been back to minelab twice, I rolled my quad one night after stopping off at a mates place for a....cup of tea... and the screen was flickering when i used it again (after my broken rib healed) long story short, getting the 5000.

Welcome to the forum Mr B. Envious of your location as us "Easterners" do it a lot tougher with the nuggets. Sort of fortunate myself that the "West" has some sort of magnetic attraction to my Troopy, and we somehow seem to get drawn over that way for a few months a year to get away from the frosts of Canberra.

Hope the forum can fill in with some great reading whilst out there in the never never, and look forward to hearing about some your tales and yarns.

Best of luck and hope the gold continues to cooperate for you.

Cheers Wal.

Cheers guys, yes the twinkle in my eyes had faded quite somewhat since 1996 when i was 16 years old with the 19th sd2100 ever made, I would find handfuls of gold with ease back then. I still make it work with a little help from eBay, just sold 17 grams of small stuff this week for $1187. Gold fever DOES exist, im living proof, probably like a lot of you guys. I havent had a break since 2011 so i hate gold right now but i need to make money. It only takes a few months off and I feel the gold bug slowly and increasingly biting me until...BANG, I need to get it so bad ill do drastic things..Ive even hitch-hiked to WA from NSW before... With my dog! I think my hitchhiking days are over but that gold bug is there for good I recon
