Hi every one :) I'm Steve and live in Adelaide! It's not the best state for finding gold but I have the bug and keen to learn from experienced prospectors. I have made 3 sluices so far (haven't tested), I enjoy panning, had an x terra 705 but sold due to wanting to upgrade soon. So far I have only been to echunga, mt Crawford, onkaparinga and a few small creeks in the hills. I'm keen to catch up with like minded people for a scratch around, so far I have only uncovered 1 small nugget around .1grm and a few small specks of gold but I'm happy with that! Most of all I just enjoy getting lost in the Bush and getting back in touch with nature, there is something about it that makes me feel like I have stepped back in time and I find it addictive :) great site and really helpful so far, good luck and thanks :)

G'day, welcome - like to have a look at your DIY sluices, post a pic or two in the DIY forum once you have your post count up .....

cheers

Hi Steve I am in Adelaide and would like to get started, all I have done so far is research, there IS gold in them there hills somewhere. SA Gov seems to have been very restrictive on where we can fossick. Perhaps we should look at alternative options.

Hi Alan, I totally agree with you mate! I think it is pretty poor our government hasn't created more spots for us to fossik around or even just make it Like Vic.I'm at the point now where I'm just goin to start door knocking and asking permission from land owners lol which I have done already on one occasion , he was a good bloke and told me 10% of my finds were his so off I went! When I left I went back to his house and gave him 10% of all the nails/bits of steel and junk I found with the detector haha he was happy :) anyway what area are you in mate, I'm parafield gardens
