Hi Everyone
My name is Paul and I am newbie in the 21st century when it comes to prospecting. I did own a top of the range Minelab in 1989 and tried searching a few times for nuggets out at Gulgong, NSW - before giving the hobby away for other things in life.... (I was 25 years old and starting a family)
Well - fast forward 24 years later and now one of those kids I raised is 27 years old and got interested in metal detecting (without any encouragement from me which leads me to believe the hobby is hereditary)
So now I find myself getting back into the spirit of detecting which has lead me to this wonderful forum! I live on the coast of Adelaide and mainly want to hit the beaches and parks for coins and relics before finding my way back out to the gold fields. Bought a Garrett 350 for starters and looking to get back into the swing!
I am also into restoring and driving Mini Mokes around the bush and think the two hobbies will go hand in hand with each other - having returned from an Adelaide to Cape York adventure last year - saw a number of amazing spots I wish I had a detector to get a closer look.
Just wanted to say "Hi" and encourage anyone in SA looking for some company to go for a swing of the detector to contact me anytime!
