Minelab Gpx 4500 not powering on

I recently sold a GPX4500.
I never had a issue with it, it really hasn't had a lot of use over the last year. Buyer sent a message me to say that it wasn't working.

He took it out out had the battery connected and working but then the power switch would not turn off so he pulled the power cord out of the machine and now it won't turn back on.

Has anyone had this problem before? Dod it turn out to be a bad switch? And can someone like EE Day in Ballarat fix this sort of thing?

Sounds like a faulty switch.
The only authorised repairers in Victoria are Miners Den Bendigo.
