What is a good detector to use i am looking at a minelab 705 dual dose anyone offer any advice as i am a novist no expert.

WELCOME . No the 705 is of little use . It's a game where you actually have to spend money on good equipment for it to pay off or give you any hope.

Agree with Jaros, as a pure gold detector the 705 won't cut it.
This is talking from experience.
I would be buying a sdc2300. Easy to use and a very good gold finder.

I got my Sdc about 10 months ago. It's compact waterproof and very easy to use. Just remember to swing touching the ground or as close as you can get to it and slow that goes with most detectors. I am going to get a gpx 4500 soon I hope but I won't be getting rid of my sdc, besides my wife has claims on it, it's awsome. I think the gpx 4500 would put you off it's learning curve is a lot steeper they are about the same price though. I would agree with Jaros.
