Google Earth panned outwards reveals the subterranean geology that runs NNW on the west side of Tassie, through Vic/SA and into the Territory as one main fold/fault ridge... where's there's rocks, there's bound to be minerals.

Beneath the ocean floor is all rock, so water is bound to cover some minerals...like they find oil out in the oceans.
The Sahara used to be lush and green with HUGE lakes up to just 60,000 yrs ago, and now there's mining going on.... :Y:

Adding to the above, time-lapse photography (or video) reveals that waves DO still cross the Sahara,..... it's just sand waves on the wind, some MANY meters high.

Land surfing might become a thing... :p

The story on channel 7 was more about the race between countries to find the unimaginable amount of wealth under the ocean floor. The site they showed was 40km's off the west coast W.A.

They only showed 2 sections of gold which was just laying on the floor and what looked to be a weathered rock face. Smoothed out gold like leaking lava. Like they said, unimaginable amounts of wealth.

There's gold at the entrance to Malacoota Inlet on the beach and just inside the lake....... so I read somewhere.
