Hi, I had the trial implant put in at approx. 1500 hrs, appt time 1300 hrs(bloody hospitals). All went ok. The Boston Scientific implant is so much more versatile in that it has so many electrodes that are able to "hit" different spots in the spinal/back area. I slept well last night as I woke at 0500 to have my breakfast and fast from 0700 - 1300 so I had a chicken sanga at 1600 and cheese and bickies and 2 cups of coffee. They went down very quickly.
I will return to the clinic at Milton for a 1130 follow-up appt. to do some more programming of the implant as well as Thursday to do the same. It should come out next Tuesday and I am hoping they can adjust all the settings sufficiently to relieve my pain by a considerable amount. The only pain I am suffering is really from the surgery area.Fingers xed. Much better technology than my last trial.
Thanks for all the well wishes, very much appreciated.
Cheers Jaros :Y: :p

Cheers and Beers mate that is bloody awsome news :Y: :Y: :Y:  :)

I wonder... since they had to make 3 separate cuts to allow the leads access up the epi... and now have you on 20 5mg Oxycodone tabs, will they now have to extend the trial time so as to be able to evaluate your pain levels properly once you are off the strong pain tablets. Or will that not interfere with your trial of the Boston Scientific System at all. Just wanting you to be able to get the best from your time with it that you can mate.... sometimes they need a little push to see outside their box, only because they are following a set of guidelines within which they work that are seemingly (to them) unbendable..... but it is you who have to ask the question of them. ;) ;) :Y:

I understand Silver. This was mentioned to me by the Anaesthetist but the pain level became too much as the drugs wore off after the op.
It was the surgeon who prescribed the Oxycodone (which doesn't really reduce my pain to much). As I write, the Boston Sci. tech just rang and has changed my program to a preset level set yesterday and I can't and shouldn't feel a thing with it at this level. It must not be changed until I see him again at 0830 tomorrow.
Thanks Silver for your input and it is appreciated as with all the member wishes are-many thanks.
Just popped my 1st Oxycodone for today and will sit in "hold" mode till tomorrow.
Cheers
What a great website!! :Y: :p

feel the pain..

look like i blew my RC in my left shoulder... they are feeding me Oxycodone sort of works for the pain but does nothing for the actual problem.

Here is fingers crossed that you get some positive outcomes and good sleep and less drugs..

stay strong Jaros

Absolutely awesome news Jaros. Hope you will be pain free from now on. Good luck mate. It will probably take a few days to kick in.

G'day Jaros, ask the Boston technician if the detector will affect your implant, seems they are sensitive to magnetic fields I have one of their pacemakers so the magnetic fields are no go zones (ie) electric welders , security checks, those new fangle stove tops , mri machines heaps of stay way froms ,, at my checkups they hang a loop over my implant to down load the info rev it up and down to check the pulse output when it operates , but i did question them on the life span 10 year battery life , hey they make a toothbrush that is a wireless charged but that different we need to remove it and replace it perhaps body corrosion ,,,, now the pain killers endone floats me around , not sure about oxycondone. think they are morphine based I ended up on tramadole slow release they do work but you in la la land well all the best in your recovery

I will have to ask the tech tomorrow when he rings. They will push the implants up higher as the point of pain is just not being reached properly. I am confident that this Implant Co. will be better for me than the other one i tried.

I was gunna say to adjust the Boston Implant back to factory preset & ground balance............. but that would be cruel. :D :D :D

I hope it works out ASAP & you're up & about chaffing at the bit to get out swinging. :Y:
Thoughts & best wishes.
Rob.

Thanks Rob. I have visualised the Irish Mine Detector - JUST PRODDING THE GROUND WITH HIS LEFT FOOT holding his hands over his ears!!!!
I will find out tomorrow ha ha.
