Gem ID Please

I panned this sizeable gem yesterday. Weighs in at 0.75ct the piece of gold is 0.08g and was panned from the same hole. I have called it for a zircon but I don't really know that much about rocks.

If it is a zircon, are they usually associated with other gemstones that I should be keeping an eye out for?

The stone is possibly a zircon ...but looking at the fracture plane It's more likely to be a garnet. Zircons are quite often associated with Sapphires...where Garnets are only occasionally associated with Sapphire deposits. The Garnet is certainly of "Gem" quality.....But I'll take the bit of gold mate Cheers Wal.

Got to agree, it looks suspiciously like a pink zircon
