Hey all,
Newbie here, just picked up my new NOX 800 and looking forward to giving it a swing, mainly looking at relics and coins for the moment until i get the hang of it and then try my luck for some yellow stuff.
Been researching like mad for publicly accessible historical areas and have already plotted some in my GPS - if anybody needs a hand overlaying old maps on top of current maps give me a yell, but if you want to try yourself.
1) Download and install Google Earth PRO (its free)
2) Download an old map preferably an old arial shot of the area you are interested in
3) In Google earth zoom in to the area and select add image overlay
4) Find the map you downloaded and slide the transparency slider so you can see the background image
5) Scale your map - this takes time but its worth it
6) Enjoy
