Hi all, TD here.
Hey, Ive got a Scorpian that I'm thinking I might upgrade, but I want to give it a clean up before I take the photos etc. I'm not worried about the outside as a damp cloth will clean that up but how do I clean off the dust from the board and electronic inside? [The board becomes exposed easily but its covered in dust etc from my 3 yrs of use] Any instruction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Blow it away with a can of pressurised gas from a photograhic store, eBay, or probably Jaycar, etc.

You can get Electric circuit board cleaner in a spray can from places like Jaycar or online. I've used it on circuit boards when I used to modify CB radios. Good stuff.

What about the oily residue that seems to be over everything as well?

The circuit board spray should take care of oily stuff.

Good Bill. Put the Scorpion up on a local Face Book selling page and flogged it in a matter of a couple of hours.......and for the detector, an extra pan and a Garrett DVD I got $240.00. Was extremely happy with that. As far as cleaning it goes, I didn't really, just used a cotton bud to carefully clean the excess off. Worked out fine.
