Anybody knows how Garret AT Gold vs Fisher f75 compare? Is Fisher f75 rain proof ? Thanks

The f75 is not water proof, the AT gold is more suited to gold detecting with its higher frequency of 18kHZ vs 13kHZ. :)

Coils are, i have one for f75, had it out in light rain no trouble, you might find a heavy down pour its not going to handle, never tested it. I've had the business end submerged without a hitch. Has excellent discrim and depth but as far as gold goes alas it remains unproven to me. Will pick up .22 lead shot no trouble. Definitely say its an all rounder not really a dedicated gold getter, not from my reading there are much better machines including vlf that will do a better job in right hands.

F75 is a great relic detector, was my favourite (over the xterra 705) in Europe.
I have no idea what it is worth for gold...

It is also a very noisy detector (lots of false signal and noise), but extremely reactive.

Thanks Guys. Putting on covers on business ends of my Fisher. I live on the doorsteps of "Golden Triangle" in Victoria.
Goldtarget, Could You tell me what better machines You have got in mind? Thanks

I have a Garrett AT Gold.
I have yet to find any yellow in the field, but I have tested it at home and picked up small pieces of gold I buried in the garden without any trouble.
I think the Garrett is a good detector for the money and it is completely waterproof.
Cheers,
weeg.

Garrett at gold i just recently sold. Used it for about half a year a lot. Found loads of pre dec. Its not the deepest detector thats for sure. If your after coins or relics f75 anyday. Im looking at getting one for my next detector.
