The parks I detect are often trashy.I am wondering if the big double D coil on my ace350, isnt the best option, and the small sniper may give me target seperation, and better results? Thanks

i would say that the smaller the better with pin pointing and getting less targets under the coil at one time - so to answer that yes it would be better for a smaller coil
The only thing with that is you are going to cover a lot less ground - so maybe try the larger coil and if you are hitting heaps of trash then swap to the smaller coil and see if you can find anything being masked and the large coil for areas with hardly any targets.
i hope this helps

RKT, I only have the standard coil on the ACE250, the elliptical one that it came out with(9 inches long by six and a half inches across). Works well enough for me,... although I've always wanted to get a super sniper coil as well(just haven't as yet).

The sniper coil is pretty damned small though, good if you are concentrating on a limited area, but not so flash for general park detecting due to limited coverage. I mainly use it in tot lots for getting in and around play equipment which is what it was primarily designed for.

The main issue with the Ace is recovery speed over multiple targets and the resultant masking that occurs vs coil choice, so even if you do change coil, you may still have some issues in the extremely junky areas. Although I still have my Ace, that was one of my reasons for upgrading to a detector that had very fast recovery times, it really does make a big difference when sorting through all the junk targets. :)

Will be awhile before I can upgrade to a better machine, but thinking the small coilp could be well worth the investment.

Ah, forgot about that coil, you maybe right Ramjet, that small DD would be ideal. The sniper coil is like having a hockey puck attached to the bottom of the shaft, it really is weeny. :D

Placed an order with mining centre, waiting to hear back from them.100 plus post...its gotta be worth the experiment for better park runs.

Snipe away Rocketaroo, feels really weird having that coil on the end of the shaft, it's almost like there is nothing there (you'll see what I mean when you get it). Good luck with it, I hope it helps you out. :)
