Hi all, rob here, 27. Kiwi living on the Gold Coast. Interest in gold and rock formation for many years and finally have the time to get into it.
Looking at going the detector route.
Still researching my options but at this stage am looking at getting the makro gold racer and the newer garrett pin pointer but I'm all ears. I realise it's a more technical first timers detector however I like the idea of being able to tune it. Once I learn it I will be looking to do a yearly 1-3month trip and go remote on the hunt.
Id be interested to hear some more info on the ormeau gold finds back in the day. Was it from the banks of that Albert river?
I'd be keen to tag along with other prospectors when local weekend trips are on also. Gympie trip etc
